Old-New Synagogue: is it open to visitors on your date?
Short answer: Fri 6 Nov 2026: Open to visitors 09:00–15:15; closed for the start of Shabbat.
Europe's oldest active synagogue (1270s) is run by the Prague Jewish Community and still holds services, so on Friday it closes ahead of Shabbat. Shabbat begins at sunset, so the closing time moves through the year.

Shabbat starts at candle lighting, 18 minutes before sunset, which we calculate for Prague for each date. Holiday dates come from the arithmetic Hebrew calendar (two-day festivals, as kept outside Israel). Opening hours can change for religious holidays, state ceremonies and restoration work; times are local (Europe/Prague).
